The Clay & Glass Gala

Thank you to all who joined us for the elegant evening on Saturday, March 23.

Visit our Facebook Page to view photos from the event.

The Gallery was pleased to have Catherine Fife, MPP Waterloo as the Honorary Gala Chair.

Guests at the Gala participated in two different art activities: glass fusing with Laurie Spieker of Grand River Glassworks, and a ceramic sgraffito activity with Chris Snedden. A live torch-firing demonstration was presented by local artist Mary Ann Helmond. Elegant wine tastings were hosted throughout the evening by Rebecca Pettigrew of The Winey Somm, and the event was catered by Public Kitchen & Bar.

Susan Cook-Scheerer returned as the Master of Ceremonies and Karyn Kirkwood and the riff raff, a well-known jazz group from Guelph, provided live music for the evening.

The Gala featured a silent auction of collectible artworks from notable Canadian artists Scott Barnim, Joon Hee Kim, Susan Low-Beer, Kayo O’Young, Ann Roberts, Bruce Taylor and Cheryl Wilson-Smith to name a few, as well as fabulous prizes, including upscale entertainment and travel packages. The ever-popular Balloon Pop activity was better than ever with lots of great prizes.
