In November 2021, Krysti Huber became the first artist to take part in the Ceramic Arts Residency program at the Canadian Clay & Glass Gallery. Krysti Huber is the founder of Scarlet Oak Ceramics, a small batch pottery studio based out of Bright, Ontario.
During the residency, Krysti spent 8 weeks at the gallery creating new work and assisting with gallery programming, including an online workshop. Krysti has continued working with the gallery by selling work through the shop and leading an adult mug decorating workshop.
Statement from the artist:
“The past eight weeks has been an experience I could not imagine. Further developing connections in the community, helping in the studio, spending time with a mentor and creating exciting new pieces could only be explained as a dream come true for my growth as a ceramic artist.
I will carry this experience with me forever, and look forward to it’s contributions toward my growing skills and ceramic business.” – Krysti Huber
