The Canadian Clay & Glass Gallery’s Permanent Collection includes roughly 1,500 works held in the public trust. Since the Gallery’s opening in 1993, the collection has grown to encompass a wide range of artworks and objects in ceramic, glass, and enamel from throughout Canada and beyond. Most of the works have been acquired from donors and are used in regular exhibitions at the Gallery, for research, or can be loaned to other institutions for exhibition.
This public database currently features 300 works from the Gallery’s Permanent Collection. These were digitized through a project funded by the Government of Canada under the Department of Canadian Heritage Museums Assistance Program. Also included in the launch are the holdings of our Sinclair Family Library featuring more than 800 books and exhibition catalogues, and a range of holdings from our Ann Roberts Archival Centre.
This resource will continue to grow as Gallery staff and volunteers work to make more objects available online.
