Help start In The Moment

This is a pilot program run in partnership with the Alzheimer Society of Waterloo Wellington. The Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery is developing dementia friendly programs, which will be offered on a monthly basis at the gallery at a small cost (includes art materials and coffee for in person programs). Help shape the In The Moment program by taking part in this free pilot project and letting us know what dementia friendly programs you’d like to see at the gallery.

What is In The Moment?

In The Moment dementia friendly art tours are designed to spark moments of joy, creativity and connection. Run in partnership with the Alzheimer Society of Waterloo Wellington, the In The Moment program aims to decrease isolation and improve wellbeing for people living with dementia. Sessions encourage curiosity, creativity, and learning new things while having fun and getting inspired by art.

Who is it for?

In The Moment programs are for people living with dementia and their care partners. We ask people to participate in pairs. People living with dementia take part with a care partner, friend, or family member who is an equal participant in the program. All stages and ages are welcome.

We thank John and Rebecca Short for their support of this project, as part of the Sharing Experiences program.
