
2026 Week-long Art Camps for ages 7-13
Each week includes an variety of art making adventures, including 3 kiln-fired clay projects.
Schedule
Drop Off: 8:30 am – 9:00 am
Art Camp!: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Pick Up: 4:00 pm – 4:15 pm
After Care Available from 4:15 pm – 5:00 pm : $50/week ($40 for 4-day weeks) or $15/day
Clay Artwork Pick Up
Kiln Fired clay artwork will be available for pick up 3 weeks after the last day of your Art Camp. You will receive an email when items are ready for pick up.
What To Bring
– Nut free lunch, snacks, and water bottle
– Weather appropriate clothing for outdoor breaks
– Dress for mess!
Friday Art Show
3:30pm on Fridays. Each week-long Art Camp ends with a Pop-up Art Show in the main gallery space. Friends and Family welcome!
Scholarships
A limited number of scholarships are available to low income families generouslly supported by The Waterloo Region Record – Lyle S. Hallman Foundation Kids to Camp Fund held at Waterloo Region Community Foundation.

Summer Camp Breakdown
Get inspired by ceramic and glass sculptures in our current exhibitions & learn how to create your own 3D forms out of clay.
• main mediums/activities: air-dry clay, plasticine, ceramics, wood, metal. Terracotta warrior to the cube! We will work with perspective and creating things in the round in any style.
Explore the natural medium of clay, learn about local habitats & wildlife, and use things found in nature to create unique works of art
• main mediums/activities: clay, community garden-related programming, using plants as texture & inspiration, painting pots & planting seeds, making garden stones
Learn about form, function, and surface decoration in the Gallery & create your own functional dishware.
• main mediums/activities: things that they can use, mugs parents can keep forever! Hand building focused will learn pinch pot, slab building, and coiling in the classroom. Glass jar decorating, beading, making accessories, etc.
Calling all innovators! Explore the world of science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics at the Gallery .
• main mediums/activities: increase use of ipads, use of Beaver Bots and construction kits, exploring structures and architecture, creating clay and colour-glaze chemistry lesson.
Experiment with stop motion animation, make kiln-fired clay characters, and storytelling.
• main mediums/activities: Communication through clay/art, telling stories, creating narratives. Will explore the work of Canadian author Barbara Reid, we’ll play screenings of classic Claymation films and campers will make their own of each in addition to the creation of ceramic characters, etc fir their kiln-fired projects.
