Teen Studio: Coil Creations

About The Workshop
Create coil patterns in this handbuilding workshop that focuses on form. Using a stoneware mold, roll, twist, stack, and swirl your way to a one-of-a-kind clay bowl!
Chose 1 of 6 different colour glazes for your piece that our kiln technicians will apply for you at the kiln firing stage for a food-safe finish.
After the Workshop + Pickup:
Items will be kiln fired after the workshop by our team of studio technicians. You will be emailed in 5-6 weeks after the workshop when items are ready for pick up. Your clay artwork will be air dried for 1 -2 weeks and then fired in the kiln twice. Each firing takes 48 hours.
FREE for Youth ages 14-18, Teen Studio Classes at the Gallery are generously supported by the Lonsdale and Roberta Schofield Fund, the Ontario Endowment for Children and Youth in Recreation Fund, and The Hilde English Memorial Fund all held at Waterloo Region Community Foundation.
This program stream is running from April-December 2026 in 10 on-site sessions at the Gallery (registration on Eventbrite), and 10 off-site sessions with community partners in the Waterloo Region.
