Additional Information for participants

The Canadian Clay & Glass Gallery will be following the Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 Guidance for Summer Day Camps and guidance from Waterloo Region Health Unit.

  • Drop-off is between 9:00 am - 9:30 am
  • Pick-up is between 4:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Please note: Before and after-care options are unavailable this summer due to COVID-19.

Please allow extra time in the mornings for daily screenings and arrive promptly before 4:30pm to pick up your child.

Thank you!

  • Minimum 2 masks per day
  • Lunch
  • Snacks for morning and afternoon break
  • Water bottle
  • Bring weather appropriate clothing (hat / sunscreen / outer layer). We will be eating lunch outside and using outdoor spaces everyday.

Please allow extra time each morning for daily screenings. A member of staff will conduct a covid screening using the Ontario Government online screening tool for schools and childcare centres [https://covid-19.ontario.ca/school-screening/]. This screening tool recommends staying home when experiencing 1 or more symptoms. You are welcome to use the screening tool at home, but we will ask you to repeat it when you arrive as we are required to keep a record of daily screenings.

Parents/Guardians must remain with their children during daily screenings.

Screening will take place outside prior to entry. Under current guidance, Parents/Guardians are not able to enter the facility.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

In the event of illness at Art Camp, The Canadian Clay & Glass Gallery will consult with the Health Unit and follow their recommendations.

If your child is unable to attend art camp because they fail a screening or become ill during Art Camp, you will receive a prorated refund for the value of 75% per day missed. You will also receive an art pack with materials including a Claytime at Home Art kit to create clay pieces at home.

If your child fails a covid screening, they will not be able to attend camp that day. Current guidance states that a symptomatic child will not be able to return to camp unless they have a negative covid test or 10 days has passed with no symptoms (this is relevant to people who have booked onto more than one camp).

If you child experiences symptoms mid-day you will be called to pick them up. Current guidance states that a symptomatic child will not be able to return to camp unless they have a negative covid test or 10 days has passed with no symptoms (this is relevant to people who have booked onto more than one camp).

We will run one Art Camp per week, which will stay together and form one cohort. Our Art Camps currently have a capacity of 8 children per week. When the province enters Phase 2, we may be able to increase capacity and offer more spaces. If so, this will be done in consultation with the Waterloo Region Health Unit.

  • Please wear a mask during daily screenings.
  • Staff and children are required to wear a mask indoors at all times.
  • Please let children know that they will be expected to keep masks on outside unless directed otherwise by art camp staff. Children may remove masks outside at the discretion of art camp staff who will ensure physical distancing is being maintained and that masks are not likely to be lost/soiled if removed.

  • High touch areas including washrooms and workstations will be sanitized twice daily at a minimum, which will be tracked with a cleaning chart.
  • Staff will use sanitization products recommended by Health Canada for use against COVID-19 [https://www.canada.ca/en/health-canada/services/drugs-health-products/disinfectants/covid-19/list.html]
  • Children will have their own workstations to limit sharing of tools. Shared items will be sanitized in between uses whenever possible.
  • Staff will ensure physical distancing is observed.
