Faith Layard
September 18, 2026 – January 11, 2027
There is no canvas more expansive than the natural world. Its lush colour, intricate ecosystems, and quiet transformations provide the foundation for Faith Layard’s luminous vitreous enamel works. Rooted in close observation and reverence for the environment, Layard translates the vitality of flora, fauna, shifting landscapes, and organic rhythms into richly layered surfaces of glass and metal.
At a time of heightened environmental awareness, her work stands as both celebration and a call to remember our collective duty to respect and protect our Earth. Layard’s vessels and jewellery are intimate meditations on fragility and renewal. Through nuanced enamelling techniques, saturated colour, and dynamic composition, she evokes growth, erosion, and ecological flux. Each piece evolves through an active dialogue between intention and process — the chemistry of powdered glass, metal, and flame mirroring the transformative forces of nature itself.
