Artist Statement:

” my work is an exploration of my body, my human-ness, and my soul. through that exploration i make connections between the earth, my body and other humans. my work is directly linked to my meditation practice and each work is a meditation on becoming a clearer filter for source, or the creator. in my work the themes of sexuality, spirituality, and trauma appear, because these have been major themes in my life. my work is my healing, my growth, and my experience of my body, my art is my life.

i am interested in using art as a collective healing practice, and as a mirror for our lives, so that we can better manage our existence. before we were using language we were dancing, singing, and painting, these are ways we can go deeper when we are unable to speak our truths. i structure my classes in a way which allows people to feel emotion they may be holding back or may be unaware of. clay is a great teacher for learning to release control. it’s a frustrating material that brings up big emotions in many, and i welcome participants in my classes to sit with these emotions and accept them. i am interested in the ways art and craft can allow us to process emotion. “
